Got my Outback... back from the body shop. Looking better than it has in years because the deer was nice enough to commit suicide partly on a panel that already had a dent in it. Took a little longer than expected because once they got it apart they found that the radiator and A/C compressor were tweaked just enough to need
be replacing. I’m very happy overall. Used a small, independent local shop that used all OEM parts and kept us in the loop the whole time. In other news this is the first time I’ve driven the Outback in about 2 months. I always forget how much more solidly built and comfortable it is than my Forester when I don’t drive it for a while.

Looks like it’s going to be a Subaru summer!

Hahaha it’s gonna be Subaru life - where I’m moving to in NM I’m pretty sure 1/3 of the cars on the road are Subarus.

When I registered my Forester in my little town the lady at the town office was like, “Forester? This must be the 1, 000 th one I’ve registered!”
The population was 1,154 in the 2016 census.

Meanwhile I try to count how many people around here have Subarus.
Not many 90s Legacies and Imprezas are left...

Like most Japanese cars of that era rust was an issue, plus they sold a lot less of those than they are selling these days. Even in northern NM where things don’t rust I don’t see to many 1st/2nd gen Legacies and 1st gen Imprezas anymore, but everything onward is pretty common. There are a few though and someone down the street from me has a GL hatchback completely covered in stickers that’s still going strong.

I am actually starting to see more and more Loyales popping up, which is rather ironic.

Same here with Brats. Now that Subarus are so popular people are starting to rescue the old ones from farms and fields and get them running.
